Jeannie Cho Lee MW, Founder

Jeannie Cho Lee is the first Asian to be awarded the Master of Wine (MW) title in 2008. Jeannie’s pioneering book about Asian cuisine and wine called Asian Palate won the Gourmand award for Best Food and Wine Pairing Book in the World. The book was also short-listed for the UK’s Andre Simon award and won the 2011 International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) Award in the Wine, Beer & Spirits category. The 220-page coffee table book, which is now also available as an iPad version, highlights the increasingly prominent role of wine in the dining experiences across ten major cities in Asia and recommends wines to pair with hundreds of local Asian dishes. Jeannie’s second book, Mastering Wine for the Asian Palate, was recently released in May 2011.

Jeannie is Founder of AsianPalate.com, a website that celebrates authentic Asian cuisine and wine together. The site contains thousands of wine ratings and reviews by Jeannie as well as a comprehensive Asian food and wine pairing guide. AsianPalate.com aimes to lead intelligent and insightful discussions about the world of wine as well as the quickly evolving Asian food and wine scene.

Anty Fung, Associate

As a graduate from Hong Kong University holding a BBA(Law) degree, Anty surprises many with her unorthodox missions and goals for life. A career in wine trade allows her to express her naturally artistic and creative personality. Being an Associate at Asian Palate enables her to discover more about the local and international food and wine scene, while also making use of her traditional business and law training. She is currently pursuing WSET Level 3 Advanced certificate whilst enjoying a glass or two now and then at leisure. After hours Anty stays active in Hong Kong as a classical pianist. She is also a leisure writer and an ardent fan of Chinese and English literature.

 

Carine To, Associate

After graduating from Hong Kong Baptist University with a Communication/Journalism degree, Carine believes nothing is better than evolving her career to the field she loves -- the heady world of fine food and wine. Work and life intertwine for Carine as she pursues the WSET qualification while savouring wine with friends for pleasure. Although Carine grew up in Hong Kong, she has lived in Prague, Adelaide and Tokyo, developing a love for travel as well as great food. Enjoying delicious meals from every part of the world is both a passion and obsession. After work hours, Carine enjoys discovering innovative restaurants and freelancing as a make-up artist and illustrator.

 

Antonia Wong, Associate

A graduate of Royal Holloway, University of London with a degree in Classical Studies, Antonia appreciates the timeless symposium of gourmet dining and fine wine. A keen and experienced traveller with a knowledge of French, German, Chinese and English, she enjoys the contrast and challenge of different traditions from all over the world. Entering the wine business combines her personal love for food and wine, whilst allowing for a specialization in marketing, event and editorial management. Antonia is currently pursuing the WSET qualification and Mandarin certification. She also enjoys discovering the hiking trails around Hong Kong, as well as fencing and the piano in her spare time.
